Explore 29 Fresh Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. Everything listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before diving into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a few surprising details. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play big creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer explained. “But on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. Yet as per the developers, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers state they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and which sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards who could work as your commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area instead of just one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT art. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. There are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil token cards
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products aimed at new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
